Yes... good idea, will be there for next release
It will be an estimated byte count of the selection based on current EOL type and encoding.

Well.. VS 2008 is pretty similar to the High Color interface on Twistpad.
Regarding the Office 2007 interface, and the Ribbon.. there are no plans at the moment, this might change, if I find a nice component, and if Twistpad will ever get the Ribbon, an option "classic" menu interface should still be available.
