 How to move around the desktop

Using version 0.2.0, I can't move the window around my desktop. It is stuck in the bottom left of my screen, regardless of how I configure DeskTask ("snap to desktop edge" and/or "Align" in the options screen).

I've read elsewhere in the forum that you could juste move the window around, but how ?

A cool option would be to align left/rigth, both horizontaly AND verticaly.

You should point the mouse cursor to the calendar or task icon, click and just drag the window around. If you have "snap to desktop edges" enabled press CTRL when dragging the window to avoid it snapping.

If you still can't move the window, post here, and I'll try to explain better.

I did not understand , what do you mean both horizontally and vertically?
having calendar and tasks side by side ?

Ok, thanks for the tip, that was obvious...

Well, let's just say that the clock in the windows taskbar is aligned right and bottom, the start menu is left bottom etc... So it'd be the ability to put the content of DeskTask to any border of the desktop. Sorry, it's a bit difficult to describe this in english for me :-))

But it is in fact not very usefull, given that you can move the window around and easily do it yourself.

Well, I'm gonna be honest, I still don't understand ;-)

But if it suits you drag the window around the desktop as it is now, it's not a problem then!

@ChubaKha:
Put the cursor on the window, left click and drag teh window around the desktop to the desired position. In the config you can align the text to the right or the left.

@Andre Santos:
Thanx for this fine util. But here is my 2cnts... :)
I don't think the problem is to drag the window around the desktop. Fixing that position is. When loading windows it jumps back to the middle of the desktop and i have to drag it back to the desired position.

Maybe an option for the config to fix this.

It's everytime you start windows?

Try this : launch DeskTask put in you prefered position, close DeskTask and start it again. Is he in the position you left it before closing or is it in the middle of the Desktop?

It's everytime i start windows!

I tried your option, closed the program and it's where i left it before closing, but when starting windows it's at the left bottom of the desktop.
Don't know why, but it keeps doing this.

Thanx for the effort......

Cheers, Ludwig.

I think this is not a DeskTask issue.
DeskTask saves his options, including position information in the Windows Registry. You may have some sort of problem with your Registry, as the information in the Registry is saved between Windows sessions.

I'm not sure what can cause this, maybe low disk space, maybe other applications, I can't really say. If it was my machine I would reinstall Windows. However you can try to make a Window repair if you are using either Windows 2000 or XP or search in Google Groups for similar problems.

Thanks and good luck,
