not sure, but this may have started after updating to norton antivirus 2006. what do you suggest. already tried outlook detect and repair.

So for what I understand DeskTask worked, probably before installing this AntiVirus ?

I'm not familiar with Norton stuff, but you may want to check outlook for third party Add-Ins, particularly if Norton installed additional toolbar's in Outlook. Try disabling them to see if DeskTask works again.

Just go to Tools - Options - Other - Advanced Options - Add-In Manager and Com Add-Ins if you have something regarding Norton, try disabling by unchecking the respective check box.

Post here if you have doubts about this.

hi andre, and thanks for the reply. to answer your question, desktask worked fine for me since your first version came out, i've used it everyday with no problems. love it. but now, i tried your suggestion, but no luck. also i uninstalled norton antivirus and still no luck. tried reinstalling previous versions of desktask after this and same error. i'll keep trying, and keep you posted.

uninstalled desktask, reinstalled norton antivirus, ran a registry cleaner, reinstalled desktask v1 rc1 and got a new error message: 'class not registered'. i will try another outlook detect and repair.

ok, andre. it seems to be working now. although i lost all my settings, i have reset my options. very cool, thanks!!

That's wonderfull news, glad it's working.

Regarding losing the settings, since you unistalled DeskTask, all setting were erased. Sorry about this,
