 Auto-Indenting Tab Problem

Perhaps it's me and my inability to configure TwistPad correctly; I don't know! Maybe someone can help me.

Whenever I have tabbed in, typed some text and hit enter, the new line has the same tab indent as the line above. Perfect! However, the problem starts when I begin to type, the auto-indented tabs on the new line suddenly become spaces!

This is really annoying. See the illustration below. Can some one help me stop this from happening and preserve the tabs?

hi,

You are right, the auto indent should respect the option "indent using tabs" and it does not.

There is no workaround (except that you can, before save, use the convert spaces to tabs command available in the format menu)

This will be solved in future releases.

BTW, what did you use to make that nice animation?

Thanks,

Thanks Andre.
The screenshot was made frame by frame using PhotoShop. It's a fake screenshot.

Very good job !

And for your problem :
Go to View > Preference
Editor > Uncheck "Discard trailing spaces"

This will solve the problem.

Discard trailing places means the spaces after the end of the line are deleted, which is not the case of JaneyC (the spaces are there before the start of the text)

Latest version (1.56 SR1) solves this problem.
