DeskTask 0.40 introduces language files which translate calendar items shown on the desktop to any language.

If you want to translate into your own language which may not be supplied, simply open the English.dtl file on DeskTask folder with Notepad and translate only the right part of the words which is in bold in the sample below:

[messages]
Calendar = Calendar
Tasks = Tasks
Today = Today
Tomorrow = Tomorrow
All Day = All Day
Multi Day = Multi Day

After editing the file, save it under a new name, like Finish.dtl (it needs to have the dtl extension) in DeskTask folder and it will be available in the dropdown of DeskTask Options page.

If you want it included in the next version, just send the file to the support email.

Any doubts don't hesitate to reply to this message.

Thanks,

Edit: Now I've re-read that, I realise you only want to show the starting time for Mult-day events, like DeskTask already does.

Multi day events are not yet taken care of.
However it will not change much, if you look at Outlook Today a multi day event item does not repeat itself in the days it spans, but rather have the Multi day label in the day it starts. DeskTask Will work in the same way.

Probably the language files will have to be updated to contain that word.

I downloaded DeskTask yesterday and I'm very pleased with it.

But there is one thing I've noticed.. If you select German as language and "Show appointment start time" there is displayed (if the calendar entry's for the whole day) "Aller Tag".
This phrase is incorrect.. I think it would rather be "ganztägig".

Thanks.

Thanks, I did the translation on Google Language tools, so it could have some issues like this one you pointed.

I will update the German file and include it on the next release

For Korean,

[messages]
Calendar = ÀÏÁ¤
Tasks = ÀÛ¾÷
Today = ¿À´Ã
Tomorrow = ³»ÀÏ
All Day = ÇÏ·çÁ¾ÀÏ
Multi Day = ¿©·¯³¯

I'll be so happy if you add this Korean translation into your updates.

For Chinese Traditional (mostly used in Taiwan):

[messages]
Calendar = ¦æ¨Æ¾ä
Tasks = ¤u§@
Today = ¤µ¤Ñ
Tomorrow = ©ú¤Ñ
All Day = ©Ò¦³¤é´Á
Multi Day = ¦h¤é

The translated 'Calendar' and 'Tasks' is checked to be the same term as Outlook Trad-Chinese version. Please save the above as file name "ChineseTraditional.dtl" or "ChineseTrad.dtl". And the GB version is supposed to be "ChineseSimplified.dtl" or "ChineseSimp.dtl".

I read about your program from the local magazine. After downloading it I found it easy to use and to be localized. Hope this good program will continue making progress.

Thanks, both Chinese versions will be included on the next release

Sorry that I mistook the meaning of 'All Day' for 'all days' and translated wrongly. The corrected is the following:

[messages]
Calendar = ¦æ¨Æ¾ä
Tasks = ¤u§@
Today = ¤µ¤Ñ
Tomorrow = ©ú¤Ñ
All Day = ¥þ¤Ñ
Multi Day = ¦h¤é
