I have desktask running on my windows 10 1903 machine and it seems like if there's any time I click on the desktop (anywhere) it suddenly becomes on top of anything else. I have a 3 monitor setup with desktask on the main screen, but it doesn't matter where i click on the desktop, if I click the desktop then it will overlay anything that was in front of it originally. Is there any fix for this?

Hi,

Thank you for your query.

A little history... DeskTask was originally developed for Windows XP, where it used a hidden technique to make it "child" of the Desktop. This worked quite well on XP, however, with the arrival of Windows Vista and the DWM (Desktop Window Manager) which makes use of hardware acceleration to render the graphical user interface of Windows the ability to make a window "child" of the desktop was lost. In Vista and above, with DWM enabled, DeskTask simulates being "pinned" to the Desktop. This is not a really a pin but rather a series of actions to make sure the DeskTask window stays underneath of all others. We
acknowledge This technique is not perfect and the symptoms you describe are considered normal.

Hope this helped,
