I'm running my shinning new Vista, but miss my desktask.
The program runs, but nothing is showed on the desktop.

It's my problem or Desktask isn't ready for it yet?

Hi,

If you turn off the fancy shining effects of Vista (making it like the standard 2000 look) does it still not appear on the Desktop?

Thanks,

Yes! And it is still there after changing the theme back to vista, but it is in top of all windows.

So, this is it? I have to turn off my so loved fancy shining effects to run Desktask?

In your blog says that it works fine in RC1

There's something I can do for you? (like debugging, etc.)

Hi,

Tested on Windows Vista and in fact when the Aero interface is turned on, DeskTask does not display the desktop window. (On the other interfaces it works as in Windows XP)

The tests made on RC1 where in a VMWare virtual machine, so the Aero effects were turned off.

It seems the "tricks" used to stuck the window in the Desktop don't work with Aero. A fix is pending for this, so there is no workaround at the moment.

Thanks,

Hi,

Thanks for you donation, is highly appreciated.

As for compatibility with Vista, please give some time, a lot of applications don't work properly in Vista due to the changes introduced, some time will be required for us (on the IT industry) to make them compatible.

Thanks,

Anything new with Vista Aero? Is there a roadmap for a compatible release for Desktask?

Greetings and thanks for such a wonderful program.

Hi,

Thanks for your comments.

At the moment there is no release date of when a DeskTask compatible with Aero will be available.

There are however plans to make it fully compatible with Aero.

By chance, I found a way to make DeskTask transparent in Windows Vista (with Aero turned on)

Ok, thanx, it works. But after a restart you have to do those steps again.

Isn't there already a new version a that beautyful desktask?
I looked the internet for an other program that works with vista, but I didn't find any such as good as desktask.

Go on with the good work!
