Hi,

This would be a very nice tool if I were able to use it to search my
Mozilla bookmarks file. Like many others, I don't use IE. Any chance of adding alternate browser support such as Opera, Firefox, Mozilla, etc.?

Hi,

I never tested Mozilla, nor for a long time Opera. But I do use Firefox and it has the find favorites feature built-in, I guess it does not make sense support Firefox.

Mozilla I'm not sure, but should also have something similar?

Opera I will have to install and see.

Basically Find Favorites was for use with Internet Explorer, new browsers basead on IE already have this built in, like Maxthon.

Thanks,
Regards

Even if other browsers have a find favorites feature built in, It would be nice to be able to search on bookmarks without using the browser. I currently use QFS which you might want to take a look at for some ideas. http://chris.id.au/qfs/default.htm

When I click on QFS I enter a keyword and up pops a list of urls. Clicking on the one I want, launches my default browser if not already
loaded. It hasn't been updated for a while and is missing a feature I really miss. That is, right clicking the URL and have it tell me in which folder the bookmark is in. This can be real helpful cleaning out duplicate bookmarks.

Hi,

I see your point.

However Find Favorites was developed with Internet Explorer in mind and I doubt at this time that this will change.

I will nevertheless remember your suggestion in future developments of Find Favorites

to go futher on this subject; i lately use FireFox and IE together (prefur FF, but some sites not viewed good in FF).
i understand that you have developed this program for IE and not for another browser.
but maybe it is a idea that you add the ability to select more that 1 'Favorites Path' in the preference.
In that way people can search for there own paths for FireFox and Opera, etc...
There for it stays a program designed for IE, but usefull for other browsers.

just an idea

I use FireFox, and less and less I found need for IE. (Unless is something like net banking which at least mine does only work well with IE)

It's not as simple as adding another path, since the storing architecture of IE and Firefox is different (not sure how Opera stores it's bookmarks) But I see the ideia, something like the exploring of bookmarks being independent of the Browser. I would have to have more feedback on this from people, since I personally don't even use the favorites of IE anymore (I just imported them to Firefox) and with the search feature of FireFox I have hardly use for my own program! So I'm not sure if is worth the investment.
