If you select "Create new document at startup" then you always get a new "Text" document.
It would be nice if you could specify the Syntax type of this new document.
At the moment, I create a blank document with the correct file extension, and get Twistpad to open that when it loads. And I know you can also click 'File/New', but I AM a programmer, therefore I AM quite lazy ;)
